MP: RPF head constable sentenced to 4 years
Narmadapuram: Special judge (Prevention of Corruption Act) Zafar Iqbal has sentenced an RPF chief constable to four years’ rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on him for accepting bribe from a vendor selling various goods. Ramji Baba Fair.
According to reports, complainant Shivkumar Yadav was selling various goods from one place to another in the Ramji Baba fair. RPF head constable Jitendra Kumar Verma filed a case against him for selling stolen goods and confiscated all the goods from his possession.
When Verma demanded Rs 1,000 in exchange for releasing his articles, Yadav was ready to pay Rs 900. Later, he sent a complaint to the Lokayukta.
Yadav’s conversation with Verma was recorded and Lokayukta officials laid a trap and caught the head constable while accepting bribe on February 27, 2018.
The trap team was led by Lokayukta inspector Amresh Bhore. After this Verma was produced in the special court of Narmadapuram.
