MP: Stray dog enters patient ward in district hospital, orders for strict action

Chhatarpur: A serious negligence of the Chhatarpur district hospital management has come to light when a stray dog was found roaming inside the patient wards of the hospital on Thursday.

After the incident, the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) said that this is a serious matter and strict action will be taken against the person concerned.

“It is a very serious matter that stray dogs are roaming inside the patient wards. I will direct the Civil Surgeon to take strict action against the concerned employees. Such mismanagement should not happen.”

It also causes infection, it can bite anyone and anything can happen. Therefore, this is a very serious issue, I will ask the civil surgeon to make proper arrangements and ensure that such negligence does not happen again,” CMHO Lakhan Tiwari told ANI.
According to the hospital management, these days there is a rush of female patients for sterilization operation and on Thursday around 80 female patients were operated on.

Here, amidst the sterilization operation in the hospital, construction work is also going on in the hospital, due to which there is dust near the operation theatre, but no preventive arrangements were made by the hospital management.

Responding to this, CMHO Tiwari said, “There are arrangements in the district hospital where the operation is being conducted. Dust is not a major problem, but the Civil Surgeon can make arrangements to prevent it by installing curtains. Civil surgeon is being directed.” The irregularities should be rectified as soon as possible and such negligence should not happen again.

Apart from this, Anganwadi Asha worker Sangeeta Yadav also said that there was no proper cleanliness in the hospital and there was a lot of fear of infection.

“We encourage women from our villages to bring them here for sterilization. After the operation we take them home and take care of them for eight days. I want to say that cleanliness should be taken care of here and we ASHA workers and our beneficiaries are not treated properly,” he told ANI.

The Asha worker said, “There is a lot of fear of infection among women due to dust and construction work going on here. We have all been informed about the problems in our respective blocks, but we have not heard any response from them yet.” Added.
