Mumbai man falls on track after being hit, moments later train runs over him

Mumbai: In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old man fell on tracks and came under a moving suburban train when a person punched him during an argument at Sion station in Mumbai.

The victim has been identified as Dinesh Rathore.

The entire incident has been captured by CCTV. In the footage, it can seen that Dinesh bumped into one Sheetal Mane(30) on the platform at around 9.11 pm. Sheetal is then seen hitting Dinesh with an umbrella. Soon after her husband Avinash joined in and slapped the deceased who lost control and fell onto the track.

Later, he was run over by a speeding train. The couple eventually escaped.

Dinesh was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead, said the official.

Dinesh Rathore used to work for Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST).

The railway police had initially filed an accidental death report (ADR) in connection with the incident. However, CCTV footage from the station confirmed that Dinesh fell on the tracks after being slapped. Police later arrested the couple.
