Mumbai Shocker: 27-year-old accountant hangs himself, investigation continues
Mumbai: A young accountant working in a private bank died by suicide in his apartment on Curry Road. Aman Gupta, 27, moved to Mumbai from Madhya Pradesh for work eight months ago and shared an apartment with two friends.
On January 16, Gupta’s roommate left for work at 8 a.m. while he was still sleeping. On returning at 7.30 pm, he found the door locked from inside and there was no response. With the help of neighbours, they entered the room and found Gupta hanging from the ceiling fan.
Doctors declared the victim dead in the hospital
Kalachowki police were alerted and Gupta was taken to KEM Hospital where he was declared brought dead. After the post-mortem, his body was handed over to his grieving parents. Police said no suicide note was found and investigation has been launched focusing on Gupta’s mobile phone. He said the SIM card was destroyed and the device could not be unlocked with Gupta’s fingerprints.
Efforts are underway to extract call details through CDR (Call Detail Record). The motive behind the incident is not yet known.
