Mumbai: Two injured in fire in Bandra slums
Mumbai (IANS) | Two people were injured when a fire broke out in about a dozen slum shanties in Bandra West on Wednesday. BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) Disaster Control gave this information. A shanty in Nargis Dutt Nagar caught fire allegedly due to a short circuit.
BMC said the fire quickly spread to 10-11 shanties in the vicinity, destroying electrical wires, fittings, appliances and other household items.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade, which reached the spot, brought the fire under control in about an hour.
In this, Shahrukh Syed (30) and Sahil Khan (19) got scorched. Both have been admitted to Bhabha Hospital, where their condition is stable.
