Municipal Corporation employee commits suicide after being ‘harassed by mother-in-law’

Indore: A 29-year-old Municipal Corporation employee in Indore committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his place in Khajrana area on Thursday. Family members allege that she committed suicide due to mental torture from her mother-in-law.

However, no suicide note was recovered from the spot. Police are recording the statements of his family members to find out why he took such a drastic step. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Manish Kalyane, a resident of Rajiv Nagar area of the city. He was working in IMC.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased’s wife had left the house with her children after a fight with him a few days ago and was living at her mother’s house in Ujjain. Manish was stressed after the incident and he tried to bring her back to the city. He had two sons and a daughter. When he was alone at home, he hanged himself from the ceiling. His niece had come to give him food when she found him hanging from the ceiling. The family informed the police.
