Murder Case Registered In Rourkela Lady Police ASI Death Incident

Rourkela: A murder case was registered at Uditnagar police station here in police ASI Alisa Narmi Lugun death incident.

Based on the complaint filed by her husband Sanjay Lakra, a case was registered under section 302 of IPC. A DSP rank officer has been entrusted with the task of investigation, police sources said.

“My wife was beaten to death. Her cheek was swollen. She was profusely bleeding from the mouth,” alleged Lakra.

On the other hand, autopsy of the ASI was conducted in the presence of a magistrate. The post-mortem was also video-graphed.

The 30-year-old woman police officer Lugun rushed to an accident spot in Panposh area in the city. A group clash erupted over the road mishap involving a bus and car.

The ASI had detained some persons involved in the clash and took them to the police station. Later, she complained of breathlessness following which she was immediately hospitalized. However, doctors declared her dead, Rourkela SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra said.

As she died in the line of duty, she will be honoured during her last rites as per norms, the SP added.
