Murder committed by entering the house, villagers were trying to hide the matter
Narayanpur: In the district, a young man was killed after entering his house on suspicion of witchcraft. It is being told that the young man was first beaten with a stick. Then he was hacked to death with an axe. After the incident, the villagers held a meeting and pressurized the family members to hush up the matter. When the police got the information, the officers and jawans reached the village. Now 2 people involved in this incident have been arrested. The case is of Benur police station area. According to information, Gandoram Salam, a resident of Malingnar, a dependent village of Remavand Gram Panchayat in the district, has been murdered. On the evening of August 31, two youths from the village, Belgur Salam and Bihari Salam, had reached Gandoram’s house. Took him out of the house. Then there was a dispute between them in the courtyard for some time. After this, both the youths thrashed him with sticks and then hacked him with an axe.
The family members of Gandoram Salam were also present at the time of the incident. He tried to intervene. After the incident, both the youths fled from the spot. When the people of the village came to know about the murder, the villagers also gathered on the spot. The people of the village were told not to inform the police about the murder. Then a meeting was also organized in the village. The relatives of the deceased were also present in this meeting. The villagers put pressure on them and refused to say anything to the police. However, the police got information about this through some medium. Officers and jawans reached the village. But no one from the village talked to the police regarding the murder. The police also met the relatives of the deceased. In the beginning, due to the pressure of the villagers, even the family members did not say anything, but later they gradually told the whole incident to the police. He also informed the police about the accused.
After this, the jawans caught both the accused from the village itself. Who was questioned. Both accepted their crime. Benur police station in-charge Manoj Sahu said that both the accused have been sent to jail in police custody.
