Murder then suicide, sensation spread in the village  

Dhamtari. Big news has come out from the district, where a husband murdered his wife and hanged himself. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot. This matter is of Magarlod police station area. According to the information, on Wednesday morning in village Bhendri of Kareli Chowki area under Magarlod police station, a young man killed his wife and committed suicide by hanging himself. As soon as information about the incident was received, Kareli Chowki police reached the spot. It is being told that Beena Sahu was living in her maternal house in Bhendri for three months. Girdhari Sahu, resident of village Songa, was also living in his in-laws’ house in village Bhendri for the last three months. Girdhari used to come to Nawapara to work as a labourer.

On Tuesday, the whole family had gone to Bhendri village to watch the Dussehra festival. The police are suspecting that there might have been a dispute between the husband and wife over some issue late in the night, after which the accused Girdhari killed his wife by hitting her on the head with a heavy tool. After that he committed suicide by hanging himself in his room. At present the reason for the murder-suicide is not clear.
