My cricket journey has been between two Mahendra Singhs: Jadeja
New Delhi| Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, in an interesting conversation with Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, revealed that he wanted to be a fast bowler early in his cricketing career.
Jadeja made a successful return to international cricket after being out of action for several months due to knee surgery. Jadeja played a key role in India’s 2–1 victory over Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the first ODI against the same team.
The all-rounder will be key to Chennai Super Kings’ success in IPL 2023, which begins on March 31.
On Star Sports’ Tata IPL 2023 preview show “Stars on the Star”, Jadeja revealed that he initially wanted to become a fast bowler.
Jadeja said, “When I started playing cricket long ago, I wanted to become a fast bowler. I used to watch other fast bowlers bowl bouncers. Seeing them, I used to think that I will also bowl bouncers at the batsmen. But I have Didn’t have the pace to be a fast bowler.”
He said, “I told Mahi Bhai that my cricketing journey has been between Mahendra Singh Chauhan, who was my coach in Jamnagar, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is my captain in the Chennai team. My cricketing journey has been between these two Mahendra Is in the middle.”
