Nature camp organized in Van Vihar National Zoo
Bhopal: With a view to developing awareness among students about forests, wildlife and environment and sensitivity towards nature conservation in Van Vihar National Park, Zoo, a one-day program was organized for the students of government schools of Bhopal city and surrounding villages. Nature camps are being organized. In this sequence, 50 students and 2 teachers of Government Higher Secondary School, Samarakala, Bhopal participated in the said nature camp. Shri A.K. was present as the resource person in the programme. Khare S.N. Mohd. as Deputy Forest Conservation and Ornithologist. Khaliq, Bhopal Birds were present. Subject experts provided information to the participants about bird watching, butterfly, wildlife viewing, film shows, forestry activities existing at the site and interesting activities related to forest, wildlife and environment and their curiosities were quenched by providing information.
Their curiosities were satiated by providing information related to forests, wildlife and environment about existing forestry activities at various places in Van Vihar. Apart from this, wild animals like tiger, leopard, bear, crocodile, chital, sambar, nilgai etc. were also observed. In the camp, Assistant Director Van Vihar Shri S.K. Sinha, Shri Vijay Babu Nandvanshi Biologist and other officers and employees were present. It is noteworthy that from January 2023 to December 2023, 16 nature camps were organized in Van Vihar National Park in which 583 students and teachers from different schools participated.
