Naxalites’ plan to create havoc foiled, cache of explosives kept in bunker seized
Ranchi: The big plan of Naxalites to create havoc during the by-election to be held on September 5 in Dumri assembly seat of Giridih district of Jharkhand was foiled by the police and security forces. A CRPF official said that many explosive materials including high explosive, codex wire, gelatin, detonators kept in large quantities in drums and cartoons under the ground have been recovered.
It is believed that the explosives were kept with the intention of causing harm to the police, security forces and polling parties during the elections. During the ongoing checking campaign in view of the by-election, a static surveillance team on Thursday recovered one lakh forty thousand rupees in cash from a vehicle at Jarua turn under Chandrapura block of the assembly constituency. The driver could not present any document regarding this, hence the amount has been confiscated.
Let us tell you that Maoist Naxalites have had influence in the entire area of Dumri assembly constituency for decades and they often try to create an atmosphere of panic through violent incidents during every election.
