NC leader took stock of problems in remote areas
NC District Ramban President Sajjad Shaheen today visited remote villages like Pogal, Maligam, Panla, Kunda and Narada of Ukhrahal tehsil here and took stock of the problems faced by the people there after the recent snowfall and heavy storm.
During the visit, the NC leader was apprised about the dilapidated condition of roads, irregular power supply and lack of health care facilities in these villages.
The people there also complained about the shortage of drinking water and demanded to build a bridge over the Maligam drain.
Shaheen said that the poor condition of some roads there has increased the problems of the people.
The NC leader said that unscheduled power cuts have increased the problems of people living in villages like Khari, Trigam, Mahu-Mangit, Sarachi, Neel, Pogal-Paristan etc.
He said that due to the storm and heavy rains, there has been huge damage to residential houses, schools etc. in Ramban district.
Later Shaheen along with DDC Pogal, Bashir Ahmed Runyal and others visited the residences of four people killed in a tragic road accident near Maligam and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
The NC leader appealed to the administration to deploy teams in the affected areas to assess the damage caused to residential houses and property by the storm and provide financial assistance to the affected people at the earliest.
NC Zonal Vice President, Riaz Ahmed Mir; Block President-Nisar Ahmed Sohail and Shakib ur Rehman Runyal and others were also present on the occasion.
