NCBC Chairman participated in OBC reservation meeting
Guwahati: Chairman of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) stressed on systematic implementation of reservation for backward classes in medical colleges in the state. He also suggested that the state government should emphasize on its proper implementation in government medical institutions.
NCBC Chairman Hansraj Gangaram is on an official visit to Guwahati. Secretary Rajeev Ranjan and advisor Rajesh Kumar accompanied him during his visit to Guwahati.
Hansraj Gangaram participated in a review meeting with senior officials of Assam, Manipur and Sikkim on reservation of OBCs and welfare measures for them.
Social Justice and Empowerment Secretary Biswajit Pegu talked about the facilities for OBCs in the state and the steps taken for their development under various schemes.
The NCBC Chairman talked about the need for implementation of rules in the government and PSUs for the betterment of backward classes. He also explained the importance of providing loans to this category of people.
