Neeraj Bawana-Naveen Bali gang members arrested
New Delhi. The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested an absconding member of notorious gangster Neeraj Bawana-Naveen Bali gang in the national capital. The gangster has been identified as Akhil alias Maya, 28, a resident of Sonipat, Haryana, an official said on Thursday. He was also involved in the shootout that took place in Rajouri Garden area of Delhi.
Akhil has also been involved in seven criminal cases of attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity, causing hurt, criminal intimidation and Arms Act etc. in Delhi/NCR. HGS Dhaliwal, Special Commissioner, Special Cell, said, “There was information about the presence of absconding gangster Akhil in the outer Delhi area. After this, the police team gathered more information about his activities. “After continuous efforts for more than 20 days, the team arrested him from Sector-18 of Rohini.”
He further said that after seeing him the team asked him to surrender. But, he took out his pistol and aimed at the police team. The team overpowered him in time and disarmed him and arrested him. Special Commissioner HGS Dhaliwal said that upon search, a single shot pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from his possession. Akhil used to provide logistics and financial support to the gang members. He is very close to Mukesh who is a key member of this syndicate. On December 15, 2023, he along with 5-6 of his associates had reached Hangover Club in Rajouri Garden area and opened fire.
