New 7-seater MPV Carnival arrives in India

Business Business: Kia Motors has unveiled its new Carnival minivan. The ex-showroom price of this luxury car is Rs 63.90 lakh. It was produced in single and fully loaded sedan plus variants. It will be available as a completely built-in (CBU) avatar. There are no direct competitors in the Indian market. We would like to inform you that this is the second version of the Carnival in India. It entered the Indian market in February 2020. At the same time, 14,542 units were sold in 3 years. On the first day, the old Carnival received 1,410 orders. However, on the first day of new orders, the Carnival received 1,822 orders.

Talking about the design of the Carnival, it looks quite big and sharp. The front end has Kia’s signature “tiger nose” grille in black and chrome, ice cube LED headlights, daytime running lights with star map and LED fog lights. There are LED combination lights at the rear. There is also a hidden wiper at the rear. This MPV comes with 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. There are two colour options available – Glacier White Pearl and Fusion Black.

It has a two-tone layout of Navy Blue and Misty Grey. It has a 12-way power driver seat and an 8-way power passenger seat with 4-way lumbar support and a memory function. The front seats also have ventilation and heating functions. At the same time, electric seats are available in the second row for comfort with ventilation, heating and leg support.

Talking about the engine, it is powered by a 2.2L 4-cylinder in-line Smartstream E-VGT CRDi engine that produces a maximum power of 193 PS. and a peak torque of 441 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It has 4 driving modes – Eco, Normal, Sport and Smart. The length of the Carnival is 5155 mm, width 1995 mm and height 1775 mm. Its wheelbase is 3090mm. The cabin can have a 7-seat configuration (2+2+3).

The interior features fully automatic three-zone temperature control with independent controls, infotainment and climate control toggle switches, one-touch smart sliding doors, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with two curved panoramic displays and a 12.3-inch 12-speaker instrument cluster A. A Bose premium audio system, 64-colour ambient lighting and a dual sunroof are available.
