New Delhi: Hoteliers cash in on New Year celebrations, no impact of resurgence of Covid-19

New Delhi: Hotel sector players are taking advantage of the New Year celebrations, that is, due to the good celebratory mood, prices and reservations at tourist places are increasing and there are reports of Covid resurgence. Shetty said, there is a clear enthusiasm in national travel which is showing a significant uptick and hotels are seeing good footfall towards the end of the year. “The locations of tourism complexes are promising, while festive events as well as gastronomic experiences are also growing significantly in urban centres,” he said. Expressing similar views, KB Kachru, vice-president, Hotel Association of India, said, ‘Having said that, the reservations for the new year, we expect them to grow at the same level. We expect even better room growth. When asked about the growth in room revenues, Chander K Balji, Chairman and Director General, Regenta and Royal Orchid Hotels, said: “…our room revenues have seen a solid growth of 19 per cent compared to the same period ” Last year, with the increase in average household income (ARR) increased by 5 percent till November compared to the previous year. Kachru, chairman emeritus and principal advisor of Radisson Hotel Group in South Asia, said it is likely that ADR (average daily rate) growth will continue “but it may moderate over the next year due to potential geopolitical considerations.” ,
