New Delhi: Youth stabbed to death, 5 arrested
New Delhi: Delhi Police on Wednesday said five teenagers have been arrested for allegedly stabbing a youth to death due to personal enmity in the national capital. Police said that the youth who died was identified as Gaurav (22) alias Lambu, resident of Gautampuri.
After the murder the attackers tried to flee the scene before they could be nabbed.
According to Delhi Police, information was received by Badarpur police station through the team patrolling near Meet Chowk on the night of 9 and 10 January. Callers reported seeing three men dragging a man who was badly injured and unconscious.
After the police arrived, all three left the injured at Meet Chowk and ran towards BIW Colony NTPC. The police and other available personnel chased and caught the three attackers, identified as Arman alias Kurru (18) and two minors aged 16 to 17, the police said.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the arrested people had fought with the deceased Gaurav. According to the police, “During the fight, he stabbed her multiple times with a knife and she died due to the injuries.” Later, his two associates, a minor and a youth identified as Sahid (18), were also nabbed.
“The blood-stained weapon used in the crime has also been recovered,” police said. He said that the body has been sent to the mortuary of All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
Police said a case has been registered at Badarpur police station under section 302/34 of the IPC and further investigation is underway.
