New train operation soon between Jabalpur and Raipur
Jabalpur. A demand of the large population of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh is going to be fulfilled soon. A new train can be run between Jabalpur and Raipur on the Jabalpur-Gondia rail track which has been changed from narrow gauge to broad gauge. West Central Railway of Madhya Pradesh and South East Central Railway headquarter of Chhattisgarh are seriously considering this proposal. If this happens then the train journey between Jabalpur to Raipur can be covered in just 7 hours.
At present only one train, Amarkantak Express runs between Jabalpur and Raipur. The Amarkantak Express train running via Katni-Bilaspur takes at least 10 hours to travel from Jabalpur to Raipur as per the time table. In such a situation, ever since the route from Jabalpur to Gondia has changed from narrow gauge to broad gauge, a new rail route has been prepared for the journey till Raipur and the demand for running a train between Raipur to Jabalpur on this route is continuously rising.
Talking about this new route, Raipur can be reached in less time from Jabalpur via Nainpur-Gondia-Durg. 9 stations can get the benefit of this new train, because this train can reach Raipur in 7 hours from Jabalpur via Madan Mahal, Ghansor, Nainpur, Balaghat, Gondia, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Durg and Bhilai. Rahul Srivastava, CPRO of West Central Railway, says that both WCR and SECR zone headquarters are seriously considering running a train between Jabalpur to Raipur on this track, on which a decision can be taken soon considering public demand.
