Newborn girl’s hand was broken, relatives made serious allegations against doctors
Kondagaon. There has been a lot of negligence on the part of the doctors during delivery in the district hospital. Even bigger than this negligence is that the matter was kept hidden from the family members for 3 days. In fact, on Tuesday, a delivery was done through cesarean operation in the district hospital. During this delivery, the hand of the newborn girl was broken, but the incident was kept hidden from the relatives till Friday evening. Dr. Rita Gedam, who delivered, says that sometimes during the complicated delivery process, there are possibilities of such an incident. Dr. Rita Gedam was seen giving evasive answers on the question of not informing the family members even after 3 days in case of broken hand of the child.
Sumitra Korram, wife of Karan Korram, a resident of Korai village under Badedongar police station of development block Farsgaon under Kondagaon district, was delivered by cesarean operation at the district hospital in Kondagaon on June 20. During this delivery, the hand of Sumitra and Karan’s daughter is broken due to the negligence of the doctors. In this regard, Karan and Sumitra informed that Sumitra had labor pain on Monday, after which she was taken to the Community Health Center in Farsgaon. Seeing the seriousness, Sumitra was referred to the district hospital in Kondagaon. Sumitra’s delivery was done after cesarean operation in the district hospital.
The parents of the newborn allege that due to the negligence of the doctors during the delivery, the hand of their newborn girl was broken, but the hospital kept this fact hidden from them. The girl was immediately admitted to the infant ICU ward. For three days, the child was not even allowed to see the mother’s milk. Relatives have alleged that when Sumitra was delivered, she was unconscious due to the operation. Due to fainting, Sumitra could not even see the face of her new born baby girl. Without telling anything to the relatives, the newborn girl was admitted to the infant ICU ward operated under the infant and maternity hospital of the district hospital. Even the newborn girl up to 3 days was kept away from the family members and was not even allowed to feed her mother’s milk.
