NIA picks up Bangladeshi citizens staying illegally
CHENNAI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday picked up at least three Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in Padappai, Maraimalai Nagar and Tiruvallur.
All three were calling themselves migrant workers from West Bengal or North-Eastern states and were living near Chennai with fake identity cards.
On Wednesday morning, NIA officials went to search all the places in Tiruvallur, Perumbakkam, Pallikaranai, Maraimalai Nagar and Padappai. During the search, the NIA found that a Bangladeshi national was living illegally in Padappai and had managed to obtain a fake Aadhaar in the name of Shahadeen Hussain of Tripura.
Apart from this, another Bangladeshi who was living in Maraimalai Nagar also managed to get fake Aadhaar card from Tripura address and both of them were caught and further investigation is going on. The man has been working in a juice shop in the area for the last three months and the authorities are also searching the juice shop and investigating if they are linked to any terrorist group.
Another Bangladeshi national has been arrested from Tiruvallur district.
