NIA team arrived to investigate Bijapur IED blast
Bijapur. Naxalites carried out a major attack on security forces in Bijapur. In this, 8 jawans of the state police unit DRG or District Reserve Guard and a civilian driver were martyred. They were returning from an anti-Naxal operation when their vehicle was targeted. After this attack, the forensic team of Raipur branch of NIA is reaching Bijapur to investigate the incident.
It is being told that the IED-laden vehicle was blasted near the vehicle of the jawans. The blast was so powerful that a big crater was created on the road and the vehicle was blown to pieces. In the videos that have surfaced from the incident spot, it can be seen that pieces of the vehicle are scattered around. The Scorpio vehicle in which the jawans were travelling was completely burnt to ashes. The magnitude of this horrific blast can be gauged from the fact that after the blast, the pieces of the vehicle hung on a nearby tree. The vehicle was completely destroyed and its steering was also found scattered at the incident spot. After the attack, the weapons of the soldiers were also recovered, which were completely destroyed. Let us tell you that this explosion took place at 02.15 pm on Bedre-Kutru Road in Bijapur district.
