Nishikant Dubey wrote a letter to the Speaker, demanding suspension of Mahua Moitra from the House.

New Delhi: The issue of taking money and asking questions in Parliament i.e. cash for query is once again heating up. This time, the flamboyant Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra of Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress is seen in the crosshairs of this allegation.

As soon as the information about the case became public, BJP Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, calling the matter as serious as the year 2005, calling for the formation of an inquiry committee for a thorough investigation of the entire matter, and immediate suspension of Mahua Moitra from the House. There has been a demand to keep him suspended till the report of the inquiry committee comes.

Citing the letter received from Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai, Nishikant Dubey has written to Speaker Birla that Mahua Moitra took cash and gifts from a business tycoon for asking questions in the House.

Terming it as ‘breach of privilege’, ‘contempt of the House’ and a criminal offense under section 120-A of the IPC, Dubey said that the TMC MP, in return, asked questions related to the Adani Group in Parliament. He even repeatedly linked it to the government and targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah so that no one could question his intentions.
