Nitish Kumar played the bet of reservation
Patna: Before the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken a new step. On Tuesday, the government presented the report of caste census and economic and educational survey in Parliament. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar suggested increasing the scope of reservation from 50% to 65% on the basis of caste calculation.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that there is a need to increase the reservation according to the population figures of SC and ST including the calculation of backward and extremely backward castes. Currently reservation is 50% but increase it to 65%. Currently, there is 10 percent reservation in areas weaker than upper castes and after this 65 percent, the total reservation will become 75 percent.
He also said that 63,850 families are homeless in the state. The state government is also offering these families Rs 100,000 for land purchase and Rs 120,000 for house construction.
He said that it will take five years to achieve this goal. There are 94 lakh poor families in the state. These poor families will get assistance of Rs 200,000 from the state government. It helps the poor from all walks of life.
The Prime Minister reiterated his call for granting special status and said that the goal will be achieved quickly by granting special status.
