No excessive drinking or illegal liquor sale this new year, Odisha government enforces new rules
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Excise Department shall become strict for the upcoming New Year. Action will be taken against those who violate the excise policy. Strict action shall be taken against those who create ruckus after drinking liquor.
Along with this, there shall be a crackdown on illegal liquor sales. Whoever is involved in this will be severely punished, Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has informed about this in a press conference earlier today.
Since the New Year is just round the corner it is expected that there will be a lot of drunken driving cases hence the Excise department has pulled up its socks. There are various instances of people drinking alcohol and behaving in a disorderly during this time.
In addition, alcohol is served in various bars till midnight. Keeping this in mind, the Excise Department has adopted this a strict policy and shall take action against violators.
