No health center at Mahatma Gandhi University, students’ lives at risk: ABVP

The Mahatma Gandhi University in Nallagonda lacks basic medical facilities for students and the university is playing with the lives of students, said Hanuman Chari, president of the university’s ABVP. He protested on Tuesday over the lack of maintenance of the health center in the university. He said that even if a PG Second Year (Mathematics) student falls at a junction with stomach pain, the absence of ANM staff and ambulance driver who should have responded immediately shows how negligent the university administration is. He asked why the university administration is not paying as much attention to the health of students as it is to collect fees.
He said that the university, which is charging lakhs of rupees in fees from students, is not able to provide minimum medical facilities. He demanded that 24-hour medical staff and ambulance facilities be immediately set up in the health center and strict action be taken against those responsible for this incident. Otherwise, he warned that he would intensify the agitation under the auspices of ABVP. Student leaders Mohan, Sampath, Ajay, Shankar, Satish, Mounesh, and Narasimha participated in this program.
