Homemade Cheese Pizza: Make Spicy, Spicy Italian Pizza at Home Now, Everyone loves cheese pizza. Here is an easy and quick recipe to make cheese pizza. These cheese pizzas can be made in small sizes and they can serve as a good party starter. These are a hit in all the birthday parties held at our house. Make small sizes for each person. Kids love it. You can add as much cheese as you want and make it extra cheesy. The aroma of freshly baked pizza is out of this world.

Main Ingredients

Maida (all purpose flour)

Ajwain (Pizza Masala)

Dry Yeast

Ingredients for Pizza Dough:

2 1/2 – 3 cups maida (all purpose flour)

1 tsp sugar (sugar)

1 tsp salt (namak)

2 1/2 tsp dry yeast

2 tbsp olive oil

1/2 – 1 cup lukewarm water

Ingredients for Pizza Sauce:

1/2 kg tomatoes

2 medium onions

6 cloves garlic

1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder (for red colour)

1 tsp sugar

2 tbsp tomato ketchup

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp ajwain

1 tsp salt

A few fresh basil leaves

Toppings:

1 teaspoon oregano

2 teaspoon olive oil

1 – 2 cups pizza cheese

Handful of sweet basil leaves

How to make homemade cheese pizza:

Add sugar and yeast to 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes. If the yeast turns foamy then proceed to the next step, else throw away this yeast mixture and start again.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, olive oil and salt.

When the yeast turns foamy add it to the flour mixture and try to knead a dough.

The dough will be very dry right now so add more water little by little and knead the dough. Add enough water so that the dough becomes sticky. It will be difficult to handle, but don’t worry, continue kneading.

Better go to a large, clean kitchen counter and knead the dough with the back of your palm. Use the stretch and pull method.

Knead it for 5-6 minutes. Then apply some oil on the surface of the dough and cover it and keep it in a warm place for 1.5 hours. Meanwhile prepare the sauce, heat a pan, add oil red Kashmiri chili powder, stir once and then add chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, garlic pods and salt. Cover and cook till the vegetables break down. Let the mixture cool and then blend in a blender or mixer. You can keep it a little thick or make a fine paste if you want. Now add tomato ketchup, sugar and oregano or any pizza masala to it. Your pizza sauce is ready. After 2 – 3 hours the dough will double in size. Take the dough and press it while removing the air. Knead for a minute. Now divide the dough into equal parts and start rolling each of them. Place them in a buttered pizza pan/tray. Leave the rolled pizza dough in the pan in a warm and moist place for an hour. Preheat the oven to 200 degree Celsius Apply a layer of butter on the edge of the pizza base. Now apply readymade or store bought pizza sauce and make a few holes in the base. Now place it in the oven till it is partially cooked. Take it out when it is more than half cooked and now spread the pizza cheese. Place it back and cook the pizza till the cheese melts. It is always good to add the cheese later or else the base is still raw but the cheese starts burning. Remove the baking tray from the oven and add some olive oil and roughly chopped basil leaves. You can cut it in any desired shape and serve. Bon Appetit!! What to serve with cheese pizza: You can garnish the pizza with oregano or any pizza seasoning or any cheese base dip. Storage tips: You can store the pizza dough in a deep freezer for up to 1 month. And you can prepare the pizza and put it in a fridge safe box once it cools down and store it for more than a week.
