Nurpur: Emerging theater artists got a platform in Dehri Government College
Nurpur: A five-day theatre workshop concluded yesterday evening at the nearby Government College Dehri in Fatehpur subdivision. The workshop was organised by the Hindi department of the college. 60 participants gave presentations on the concluding day of the workshop. Principal of Government College Re Neenu Thakur presided over the programme. The participants staged a dramatisation of Phanishwar Nath Renu’s story Pahelwan Ki Dholak. Assistant Professor (Hindi Department) Neha Mishra said that the main theme of the workshop was focused on the personality development of students.
She said that during the workshop, eight training sessions (theoretical and practical) were organised in the first four days, in which the participants gave presentations on the last day. Assistant Professor Amitesh Kumar of Allahabad University was the virtual resource person and keynote speaker in the first session of the first day of the workshop. He discussed in detail the nature of drama and various theatre components through presentations. Another resource person and theatre lover Pratibha Rai from Dharamshala conducted the practical sessions. The participants were also provided knowledge of theatre architecture, scene design, theatre lighting, sound and costumes.
