Nurpur: No Patwari for two years, Indora residents protest
Nurpur: Residents of the area recently lodged their protest in front of the circle office against the vacancy of the post of Patwari in Ghandran, the largest Patwar Circle of Indora subdivision of Kangra district. Residents of the area, under the leadership of Ghandran Gram Panchayat Pradhan Jugal Kishore, alleged that the post of Patwari in their Patwar Circle has been vacant for about two years, and people are facing difficulties in getting their revenue related work done. According to the information, the Revenue Department has deployed a Patwari from Malahari Patwar Circle to work in Ghandran twice a week, and no full-time Patwari has been appointed on this post.
Kishore said that due to the vacancy of the post of Patwari, the residents of Upper and Lower Band, Mand Sanor, Ghandran, Surdwan and Paniyala area are most affected. He said that Ghandran Patwar Circle is the largest Patwar Circle in the area, and the farmers, students and common people who come to the office find the Patwari office locked four days a week. Residents who gathered outside the Patwar Circle Office to register their protest complained that the absence of a full-time Patwari in the office has made it difficult for them to get their revenue-related work done such as division, marking and obtaining revenue records. During the two days when the Patwari was present, the office remained crowded and locals were often forced to leave the office without getting their work done.
