Odia workers rescued from Uttarkashi tunnel will return home today
In Bhubaneswar, reports indicate that following the successful Uttarkashi tunnel rescue, the Odia workers are set to return home on Friday. Notably, four workers are scheduled to return today, while one remains under observation at AIIMS Rishikesh.
VK Pandian, Chairman of 5T (Transformational Initiatives), engaged with the five rescued Odia workers via a video call on Thursday. These workers are currently receiving medical care at AIIMS, Rishikesh. Pandian inquired about their health and discussed the facilities available to them at the hospital following the Uttarkashi tunnel rescue. He also discussed their plans for returning to Odisha.
During this interaction, Odisha Labour Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak was also present. Reports mention that the Minister, along with a team, was actively involved in the Uttarkashi tunnel rescue operation. Additionally, the 5T Chairman conveyed that the Chief Minister expressed delight upon learning about the safe rescue of the workers and is eager to meet them upon their return.
