Odisha: Anganwadi worker hands over 3-month-old daughter to colleague, allegedly elopes with lover
Khurda: An Anganwadi worker reportedly handed over her three-month-old daughter to her colleague and allegedly eloped with lover in Odisha’s Khurda district yesterday.
Rojalin Sethi, the Anganwadi worker of Dibyasinghpur Sasan village of the district, had reportedly gone to the Block office for a meeting along with her three-month-old daughter. However, she handed over the baby to one Sanjulata Singh, the Anganwadi worker of Malisahi, while returning home and went somewhere.
As Rojalin Sethi did not return after several hours, Sanjulata took the child to Rojalin’s family and informed them about the matter. However, her family members did not accept the child, following which she reached the Balagada Police Station and informed the cops about incident. Later, police sent Rojalin’s daughter to the office of the child line.
While the whereabouts of Rojalin is yet to be known, it is suspected that she fled with her lover. Police also informed that she had done such thing twice in the past.
It is said that Rojalin’s husband is working somewhere outside the state while she was living at the house with her in-laws along with another sever-year-old son.
