Odisha Cabinet recommends proposal to include ‘Mundari’ language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet meeting held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the conference room of the third floor of Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar recommended the proposal to include ‘Mundari’ language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. India.

Inclusion of “Mundari” language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India will bring the following benefits to the Munda and Mundari tribes of Odisha:-

Conservation and promotion of Mundari language and culture
The tendency of Mundari speaking people to shift to other languages will be controlled.
encourage literary activity
More literary activities like publishing of books of different categories will gain momentum
The indigenous knowledge and practices of the Mundari speaking population will be preserved
Open a new window for research and study based on conservation and promotion of Mundari language
This decision will benefit more than six lakh Mundari speaking natives.

The Cabinet’s decision to recommend inclusion of Mundari language in the 8th Schedule will have no financial impact.
