Odisha: Five new Covid cases reported, total cases rise to 19
Five more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours, health officials said on Sunday. The total number of active cases of COVID-19 in the state is now 18 and one patient has recovered from the disease, he said. Earlier, the Odisha government had asked all government-administered medical colleges and district medical directors to increase surveillance, testing and preparedness for a possible surge of the virus. The state government has ordered all districts to increase surveillance of ILI (inflammation similar to flu) and IRAG (acute respiratory infection) and guarantee availability of COVID-19 tests in all health institutions. Positive people will have to follow home isolation protocols and necessary treatment. It has ordered medical care institutions to guarantee dedicated beds and beds with oxygen for any admission and management as per COVID management protocols.
