Odisha: Gang of bouncers arrested in land fraud case
Bhubaneswar: A gang of bouncers was busted in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on Tuesday and four members of the gang, including another person, were arrested on land fraud charges.
Acting on the allegation of a man named Manas Behera, Chandrashekharpur police arrested four bouncers, identified as Padiya Sahu, Cheeku, Satyabrata Behera and Sameer Barik. The fifth person is Ajit Mohanty.
According to Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prateek Singh, Ajit used bouncers after an altercation with Manas Behera. The accused allegedly threatened Manas and forcefully sold his land to another person.
The gang used to threaten people and extort interest from them, the DCP said, adding that police recovered Rs 16,000 from their possession.
Earlier, a case was registered against Padiya Sahu. Further investigation and raids at other places are underway to find out the involvement of other people in the case.
