Odisha men’s and women’s rugby teams reach semi-finals of National Games

Goa: Men’s and women’s rugby teams have entered the semi-finals in the 37th National Games 2023 going on in Goa. The men’s team secured a place in the semi-finals by securing a decisive 19-4 victory against Bihar. The women’s team defeated Karnataka 64-0 and made it to the final semi-finals. Now in the semi-finals and finals to be held on Friday, the men’s team will face Maharashtra while the women’s team will face West Bengal. Let us tell you here that four women of Odisha team, Hupi Majhi, Dumuni Marandi, Tarulata Naik and Mama Naik had represented India in the recently held Asian Games in China. Additionally, Shahnawaz Ahmed of the men’s team also represented India in the Asian Rugby Championship.
