Odisha to experience heavy rainfall from tomorrow, Yellow warning issued to 8 districts

Bhubaneswar: The formation of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal and neighboring areas is expected to bring rainfall to Odisha tomorrow. The low-pressure system, which has shifted to East Madhya Pradesh and the surrounding regions, is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Odisha on the 19th of September.The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecasted that rain will return to the state starting tomorrow. Particularly heavy rainfall is anticipated in certain parts of Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, and Ganjam districts.

Additionally, a yellow warning has been issued for several districts, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, and Kalahandi, due to the possibility of heavy rain on the 19th of September.

According to the Meteorological Department, in the past four days, Odisha has witnessed a significant increase in rainfall, with an average of 110.5 mm recorded. This represents a substantial 231% increase over the usual rainfall of 33.4 mm.
