Olympic champion Han Kang announces retirement
Beijing (IANS). China’s pair skating Olympic champion Han Kang has announced that he will miss all events in the current Olympic cycle due to injury.
This means Han, 31, and his 28-year-old partner Sui Wenjing will not be able to defend their Olympic titles at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games, reports Xinhua.
Han said on social media, “I am sad to announce that I have decided to withdraw from all competitions in the Milano cycle. A year and a half after the Beijing Winter Olympics, I am still not fit to return to the rink.” Am.”

Sharing the post, Sui wrote, “I hope Hong gets well soon. Although it is sad, I completely understand and support Hong’s decision.”
Sui and Han, two-time world champions and runners-up at PyeongChang 2018.
The pair have not competed since their historic victory at Beijing 2022, leading to speculation that they may announce their retirement.
Han was appointed as a skater member of the Single and Pair Skating Technical Committee by the ISU last September and Sui has been pursuing choreography after studying at the Beijing Dance Academy.
