On completion of 5 years of ‘Manmarziyaan’, Amit Trivedi said, working with Anurag Kashyap is always ‘special’
Mumbai (IANS). Music composer Amit Trivedi is celebrating the fifth anniversary of his film ‘Manmarziyaan’. The composer has gained recognition for his work on the soundtracks of ‘Dev.D’, ‘Lootera’, ‘Queen’, ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘Udta Punjab’ and others.
For the film, Amit collaborated with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, with whom the composer made his Bollywood debut with ‘Dev.D’.
The ‘Manmarziyaan’ soundtrack blends Punjabi tunes with a modern twist and consists of 12 songs. ‘Daria’ is a song that touches the hearts of the audience. ‘Shades of Grey’ perfectly captures the idea that love doesn’t follow rules.
Talking about the album, Amit said, “Collaborating with Anurag Kashyap is always special, and ‘Manmarziyaan’ is one of the most special albums. The love I get for it is still tremendous. Whenever When we perform live, ‘Daria’ and ‘Bijli Giregi’ remain favorites among the audience.
He further added, “The album encompasses different genres, and it was so much fun to create each of them. We also had the privilege of using Amrita Pritam’s iconic poem in one sequence, and that was a very special moment for us .I hope this album will continue to be treasured by future generations.”
The pairing of Anurag Kashyap and Amit Trivedi always does something good.
