One criminal arrested in police encounter

Meerut (IANS). An encounter has taken place between Kankarkheda police station of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh and a miscreant. During this, the scumbag who was injured by the bullet was arrested. He was wanted in more than 10 cases of robbery in Meerut district. There was a reward of Rs 25 thousand on him.

In the encounter that took place on Venkateshwara Road with Kankarkheda Police, the criminal Shaukat alias Monu was injured by bullet and arrested. A scooter, a pistol of 315 bore, a hollow cartridge of 315 bore and a looted chain have been recovered from his possession. The accused is a resident of Muzaffarnagar. There are 40 criminal cases registered against him for chain robbery in Ghaziabad, Meerut and Muzaffarnagar.
