One year deferment for Uhal project, deadline fixed for May 2024, instructions to replace damaged penstock
Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has given instructions to make the 100 MW Uhal-3 hydroelectric project functional in one year. For this, he has given extension to the officers till May next year. He also directed to replace the damaged penstock of this power project within eight months. He said that the setting up of this project has already been delayed and the authorities should work tirelessly to complete the project work within the stipulated time. He said that the state government would provide full cooperation to complete the project. He himself would visit the project site on June 15 this year and review its progress. The Chief Minister was presiding over the meeting of Energy Department on Tuesday.
He said that as per the budget announcement, the State Government would provide 40 percent financial assistance to the potential entrepreneurs of the State for setting up solar power projects of 100 kW to 2 MW capacity. He said that the state government would also provide assistance from banks to finance these projects. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also reviewed the progress of works related to establishment of six proposed green corridors in the state.
Instructed to complete the tender process for all green corridors by October this year. He said that charging stations would be set up for about 1600 kilometers of these corridors, including the cities falling within the purview of these corridors. He reiterated that the state government has set a target to make Himachal a green energy state by March 2026. He said that Himurja would be given the right to develop infrastructure for setting up charging stations in these six corridors.

Will complete the target of 200 MW by December
While presiding over the meeting of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited, the Chief Minister directed the officials to complete 200 MW solar projects by December. He was informed in the meeting that the detailed project reports of 45 MW solar projects in the first phase have been finalized. The Chief Minister also instructed the officials to identify land for setting up solar power projects in Lahaul-Spiti district.
