Only 12 voters in a village, they too are boycotting the elections

Baikunthpur. The Election Commission has set up polling booths for only 12 voters, but this time the voters here are not ready to vote and are boycotting it. They say that till now they have not been provided basic facilities like electricity, roads and water, so why should they vote. A polling center has been set up for 12 voters in Kanto, a dependent village of Gram Panchayat Kachohar of Sonhat development block of Koriya district. For the first time the camera has reached this village.

Kanto polling station is center number 139 of Bharatpur Sonhat assembly. This center was constructed after delimitation in the year 2008, earlier there were 11 voters, now there are 12.

The district administration has completed the preparations for the elections, the polling team reaches here two days in advance. Election material is sent through tractor.

There are total 12 voters in Kanto village, all are Gurjars, there are total 3 houses in this village. In which Raghubir, his mother Bhagwati, Manmati, sons Ashutosh and Harihar, Jirjodhan, Horilal and his wife Gomti, who is an Anganwadi worker here, apart from this, Gulab and his wife Kavita and Kamta and his wife Banna are residents here.

The residents of Kanto village are forced to live without basic facilities, village woman Bhagwati says that there is no boredom in her village. They have to use drain water for drinking water, there is no electricity, the solar powered lights provided have broken down, there is no road. Whereas woman Kavita says that those people do not get work, are not bored, they have to go through many problems even to get drinking water.

Government schemes are not reaching here. Jirjodhan says that he has seen both BJP and Congress, but what is the value of our vote, only they are taken care of in elections, rest of the time no one comes to ask him. This is the reason why he has decided not to vote this time.
