Opposition’s ‘India’ will not succeed: Assam minister Keshab Mahanta
New Delhi (IANS). Assam minister Keshab Mahanta has criticized the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (India), formed by the opposition to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, saying it will not succeed.
Referring to the opposition alliance, he said, “Nameing their alliance as ‘India’ will do nothing. We have to see what is inside it. They are trying to divert the attention of the people. They will succeed under any circumstances.” Won’t happen.”
“In the name of India, they should not tarnish the image of the nation in future,” said Mahanta, the working president of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).
“States where opposition parties are leading, they will not leave seats for other parties (their allies). Even, Congress will not get chance to contest elections in many states. So, what will be the result of this alliance (INDIA) Will happen?” we know.”
Responding to a question on the 2024 general elections, the minister said, “The only mantra of the NDA is development. This is our only issue.”
“It is a good beginning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” Mahanta said at the NDA meeting.
Twenty-six political parties, including the main opposition Congress, on Tuesday formed an alliance named ‘India’ in Bengaluru to fight against the ruling BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
