Paddy procurement in full swing, but transportation system slow

Rajnandgaon. There is a surge in paddy procurement in 96 paddy procurement centers of the district, but the lifting of paddy is happening at a very slow pace. As compared to last year, only 4% of paddy has been lifted till 17th. Paddy procurement may be affected due to slow transportation system.
At the same time, with the arrival of the biometric machine for purchasing Dham through biometric system, now purchasing through the machine has also been started. There is a rise in paddy procurement which started from November 1 at the support price of paddy. Paddy is being procured through biometric machines in 96% paddy procurement centers of Rajnandgaon district. Here, thumb impressions of registered farmers are being taken and in case the thumb impressions do not match, identification is also being done through eyes.

Till now, 5 lakh 15 thousand 3 hundred 43 quintals of paddy has been purchased from 12 thousand 5 hundred 63 farmers. But the lifting of paddy is going on at a very slow pace. Due to lack of transportation of paddy on time, there will be jam in the paddy center and paddy procurement will be affected. In comparison to last year, only 4 percent paddy has been lifted so far this year. District Central Cooperative Bank CEO Sudhir Soni said that so far paddy worth Rs 113 crore 25 lakh has been purchased.
