Paddy procurement started at 169 centers

Rajamahendravaram: El collector Dr. K Madhavi Latha on Wednesday inspected the process of purchasing rice at the field level in the village of Kondagunturu in the rural area of Rajamahendravaram.

Inspected a Rythu Bharosa Kendra (RBK) in the village, interacted with the farmers and expressed his satisfaction with the progress of procurement of grains during the Kharif season.

The collector said that till now the purchase of rice has started in 169 shopping centers of the district.

It is said that rice purchasing centers have been established in 231 RBK of the district. They are preparing plans based on the crops at field level and they are opening purchase centers in their respective villages, he added.

The agricultural assistants of the village and the secretary of the panchayat are visiting the villages and creating awareness among the farmers.

The collector examined the records and details of data entry into Kondagunturu RBK. Also examined was the method to check moisture content and measure weight.

Also present were the joint collector N Tej Bharat, the manager of the district of the Department of Civil Ministers, A Kumar, the agricultural officer of the district, S Madhava Rao, and Tahsildar Pawan Kumar. Chilakalapudi Srinu, N Chakra Rao, K Lovaraju, P Nageswara Rao and other farmers talked to the officials.
