Palghar: Mutilated bodies of three people found in chawl
Palghar: Decomposed bodies of three people were found in a room of a chawl in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Sunday, police said.
The deaths were discovered when residents of the chawl, which falls under the jurisdiction of Manikpur police station, alerted police about a foul smell coming from a room on the second floor of the complex, an official said.
He said that a police team reached the spot and entered the room and recovered the bodies around 5 pm.
The officer said the deceased have been identified as Azam, Raju and Chitku, who lived together in a chawl and sold fruits.
Preliminary investigation suggests that people may have died due to gas leakage, he said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death, adding that further investigation is underway.
