Panchayati Raj Minister reviewed the works of the department, sought report in 7 days
Karauli. The meeting of Karauli Panchayati Raj Department was held in the auditorium of Karauli Collectorate. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Ramesh Meena expressed displeasure over the non-payment in the cleanliness campaign and non-spending on various items. The minister formed a team and directed to investigate the delay in payment for the cleanliness drive. Various departmental officers including Panchayati Raj Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Abhay Kumar, Government Secretary Ravi Kumar Jain, Panchayati Raj Director were present in the meeting.
Questioning the process of selection of place for construction of community toilets, Minister Ramesh Meena said that community toilets should have been constructed at a public place, but have been constructed arbitrarily. Due to this community toilets are not being used. The minister has given instructions to build community toilets in Dang area as well. The Minister instructed to prepare and submit the factual report of the works of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj within 7 days. The minister expressed strong displeasure over the delay in payment for construction of toilets. Along with this, instructions have been given to pay for more than 1100 toilets within 7 days and submit the report. The minister has also given instructions to constitute a team to investigate various works and submit the report. During the meeting, the minister expressed displeasure over the slow progress of various schemes and lagging behind in targets. After reviewing the ranking of the district in the state, the minister gave instructions to speed up the development works, to complete the targets on time and to improve the working style.
