Panchmasali MLAs should resign en masse: Congress MLA Raju Kage
Belagavi: Congress MLA Raju Kage has called upon all MLAs from the Panchamasali community to resign en masse demanding reservation under the 2-A category. Kage said that already many leaders have distanced themselves from the ongoing fight for reservation for the community and protests by saints and leaders will not yield any results. In a meeting with saints of the Panchamasali community in Kagwad on Tuesday, Kage said that all MLAs from the community should immediately decide to resign from their posts, so that pressure can be put on the government to demand reservation. He said that if Panchamasali MLAs take such tough steps in the interest of the community, the government will definitely fulfill their demands. He said that MLAs should make such sacrifices for their community so that history can be created. He said that every MLA from Panchamasali has an important role in the ongoing fight for reservation. He said that no one should stay away from it and should actively participate in the fight to reach the goal. Assuring the Panchamasali Mathas and seers of standing with them in the ongoing struggle, Kej said several MLAs have won in the recently held Lok Sabha elections and are available in Parliament.
He appealed to the state government to approach the Centre seeking quota under the 2-A reservation matrix. Kej said he is ready to quit the MLA post if Panchamasali people are going to benefit from it. Basava Jaya Mrityunjaya Swamiji of the Panchamasali Peetha of Kudalasangam was also present at the meeting.
