Teejan Bai is the first woman to stage the story of Mahabharata in full speed and Kapalik style. Teejan Bai was born in village Ganiyari in Bhilai. Her maternal grandfather Brajlal inspired her to take forward the ancient Pandavani art. She started her program from a small village Chandkhuri in Durg district at the young age of just 13 years. Since then, she has captivated people with her Pandavani singing on many stages not only in the country but also in the world. He was raised by his mother Sukhbati and father Chhunuk Lal. His first guru was his maternal grandfather Brijlal Pardhi and his formal training was given by Umesh Singh Deshmukh.
