Panic due to blasting, demand for closure of 5 mines
Khairagarh. In the district, the Bhim Regiment demonstrated for the closure of illegal mines. On Sunday, Bhim Regiment worker and district president Umesh Kothle staged a one-day protest at Thelkadih village. Along with shouting slogans, they also did a chakkajam for some time.
According to the information, there is a demand for closure of 5 mines operating in Thelkadih and Kalkasa. The Bhim Regiment alleges that these mines are being operated illegally. Against which the workers blocked the wheel in the middle of the road. And only after the Tehsildar’s assurance, they ended the protest.
The Bhim Regiment had held a meeting in Thelkadih a month back. In which the problems of the people due to the blast in the mines were discussed. People told that when blasting takes place in the mine, the pieces of stone reach ward number-2. Due to the vibration itself, cracks have appeared in many houses and shops. After the meeting, on July 18, along with District Rural President Rajesh Burman, the workers also submitted a memorandum to the collector. But after no action was taken, they staged a sit-in again.
