Parents Association raised questions on the decision to merge Atmanand schools with PMShri
Durg. Swami Atmanand English medium school was started by the Congress government in the year 2020, and Hindi medium school was started in the year 2022. At present, a total of 751 Swami Atmanand schools are running in the entire state, in which about five lakh children are registered and 14 thousand teachers are posted. The government established Hindi medium schools were closed and converted into Swami Atmanand English Medium School. Now Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools are being closed and PM Shree Schools are being made, regarding which the Parents Association has now questioned the intention of the government.
State President of Chhattisgarh Parents Association, Christopher Paul has written a letter to the School Education Department and DPI demanding to make the information public. Mr. Paul says that the code of conduct is in place and 311 Swami Atmanand schools of the state are being registered to merge them into PMShri School, whereas this is a policy decision and no such decision was ever taken in the cabinet meeting. Despite this, Swami Atmanand schools are being registered as PMSree schools by the education department officials, which is not appropriate.
